Some news, and a report!

T&C "Slim Slugs" will be available for purchase in a couple weeks. There will only be a few patterns available until I can find some time to create more. Occassionally, I will make some custom slugs like the rainbow trouts in the previous post(which have been taken- sorry) and auctioned off. This will be done either through ebay(I will provide a link to auction here) or through email.

T&C "Calikillers" are basically a 5" version of the swimgrub. These will also be available in every pattern that is available for the swimgrub. Calikillers will not be available until 2011(except for custom orders).

My shore based fishing report:

The bass bite in SD Bay has picked up the last 2 weeks. However its been quantity over quality for the most part. Wide open mackeral 10"-12" early last week around Spanish Landing, Shelter Island, and Embarcadero areas. Smallish bonito outside Harbor Island and Shelter Island a few days ago. Big bat rays and leopard sharks cruisin around MB. Corvina- classified! :)

Wow! A leaderboard 12" spotty for November??

Its November 19th and this lone picture has been the only one reported this month, other than my own and a buddy's. Not that this is a bad thing, but I am surprised nobody has sent in anything. Somebody please catch a cuda, or a boney, or a hali.... or a bigger spotty!

Price increase...

Due to the price increase of plastisol, or liquid soft plastic, we will be raising our prices on January 1, 2011. Prices will be $6/dozen, $4/ half dozen, and .70 individually. Custom color pricing will however remain the same, please email me at tclures@hotmail.com with any questions you might have.

Updated Pie Chart

This is a pie chart of which baits are not only most popular, but also which ones have the best numbers. The ones that seem to have low numbers are simply because not too many people are buying those colors. The hot bait last week was the squid pattern. The next updated piechart will only show the top 6 patterns, and a section for the "others".

DELAY ON ORDERS....

I apologize for the delay on orders that have been made or even rejected due to a recent family emergency that has me tied up. I promise to those of you who have already paid and have been waiting on their orders that I will make good of the situation. To those of you who have tried to make orders and have been unable to, please give me til November 9th before ordering, thats the soonest I will be able to ship out orders.

I thank you all for understanding, and though I will not go into specifics about the situation, If you all could just include me and my family in your prayers it would mean so much to me.

Thank you-

Kevin Taylor

Leadhead progress part 2

I've got the kinks worked out of my molds now and the pouring is going great!

The powder coating is not going so great so far, though.  The football heads paint perfectly but I'm having trouble getting a perfect coating on the shad heads. I'm working on getting some equipment that will help me make the process more consistent.

Next step is to work on getting a consistent epoxy coating.  The eyes on my jigheads will hopefully never fall off!

Here's the first batch of shad heads:

Here's a preview of a completed shad head:

And a 3/4 oz football head for the deep runners:

I still haven't decided on the final color roster.  Most likely they will be dark colors so I will only have to do 1 coat of paint.

My next batch will be complete with the weedguard and I will hopefully have a few for testers.

First fish caught in another state!

This is a Redfish caught in Jacksonville Florida by an angler named Ron who picked up some swimgrubs from his brother while visiting San Diego.

Winner for October

This months winner for the photo contest belongs to Chris Gercke. He caught the huge spotted bay bass pictured below in the previous post while using the aquamarine swimgrub. Easily in the 4lb range and 20+ inches long. A definite lock for this months photo contest! Congrats Chris!
