Thanks for your support!

I want to thank everyone who showed up today for the Bassin for Brest Cancer II fishing contest :)

It was a great turn out today, and there were quite a few fish caught today, not bad for not so ideal conditions. I wish I would have been able to run around and snap some photos, I left that up to my son and step daughter to do. Needless to say I dont have many usable photos lol. It would be great if everyone who took pictures could email them to me, I would really appreciate it.

Things got off to a great start with some fish being caught right away, much better than last years contest. The fishing wasnt wide open by any means, but there were fish being caught from beginning to end.

44 people signed up for the contest, out of those, 32 showed up plus we had 8 people show up on the stand by list participate. So we ended up with 40 participants which is great!

The fish counts look like this:

6 halibut(2 legals, a 24" landed successfully, and an estimated 30"+ that never made it to shore)

19 spotted bay bay( 16" being the biggest)

1 calico bass

14 mackeral

29 lizardfish

The winners for the fishing part of the contest are:

Brian Johansen - 24" halibut

Jordon Ong - biggest bass - 16" spotted bay bass

Jordon Ong - most lizardfish(5)

Ryan Sasena - most bass(5)

The grand prize was originally going to be 2 dozen custom baits and some jigheads, but thanks to a generous raffle donation from Len (a.k.a. Skrilla), we were able to have a custom wrapped bass rod as our top raffle prize. The winners for those two prizes were Becky Nava, she won the custom bait package, and Jarrett Rosenthal won the custom rod :) Congratulations to all the winners!

Next years BBC3 contest is going to be a lot bigger. The entire structure of the event will be a little different also, but there will be sponsors donating some nice prizes, and we are hoping to have a bbq as well. Even though its a year away, I am excited to know there are more people and companies wanting to donate to this great cause.

Thanks again everyone, today all of you were winners. Dont forget to email me your photos :)
